Workshop : “Together in diversity and for Equity “


First Module of Workshop : “Together in Diversity and Equity “ organised by Women’s Fund Asia , Nijera Kori in collaboration with Supporting People and Rebuilding Communities(SPaRC ) ended on 29 May 2021 .

It started from 16 May 2021 . Due to the pandemic , it held online . The trainers of this workshop were Journalists, human rights Activists , lawyers , teachers and other professionals.


In this workshop , 30 Applicants were selected from 98 applications. This workshop was mainly organised for the women of Chittagong Hill Tracts . On the first day , Tasaffy M Hossain , founder of Bonhishikha and Muktasree Chakma Sathi , founder of SPaRC and Researcher and Activist discussed about gender and sex , power map .

Even the cofounders of SPaRC (supporting people and rebuilding communities ) Bishaka Tanchangya and Ritan Rings Chakma came to the first day to talk about their journey and shared stories behind SPaRC .

Nafisa Tanjim, assistant professor of Gender , Race , sexuality studies and global studies of Lesley University , USA joined on the 2nd day and discussed about the labour distribution among men and women . Many participants joined in the discussion and asked various questions . On the third day , Dipen Chakma , founder of Unmesh came and talked about the struggles behind Unmesh . The trainers discussed about power and patriarchy.

On fourth day , Chingme Prue Marma who is a journalist and human rights activist encouraged the participants to work for the people, shared her struggle story behind being a journalist where none were from any in this field of her family . She told to make network and “As we are very less in population , if we don’t come forward to help and work for our rights , who else will ? “ Moreover , the trainers discussed about feminism and how it works . They talked about the differences and showed some videos .

Khushi Kabir , coordinator of Nijera Kori and rig activist deliberated about feminist movements , South Asia and global on the fifth day . Ilira Dewan , writer and activist came and presented about the previous protests , movements of our Chittagong Hill tracts in front of the participants.Many participants were very amazed and said that they didn’t know about this before . They also didn’t know that these incidents happened back then . On sixth day , the trainers let the participants to know them each other and made new friendships .

On seventh day , Simu Naser who is the founder of Earki talked about content creation and how we can make awareness through content creation . Moreover , Professionals joined from Moner bondhu and delivered their speech about mental health .
