Champa Chakma, a former cricketer, played a remarkable role for Bangladesh national women's cricket team through her charismatic bowling.

Bangladesh's young left-arm spinner took nine wickets, 4 for 5 against China, in the Asian Cricket Council women's tournament at Johor in Malaysia in July 2007. As a result, Bangladesh won the tournament without dropping a single game.

She is also one of the team members who won a silver medal at the 2010 Asian games against China's National team in Guangzhou, China. China's batsmen claimed they had never seen bowling like that before.

She became a successful 16-year-old spin bowler for the Bangladesh National Women's Cricket Team; still, Champa had to cope with village gossips circulated by critics appalled with the idea of a girl spending her days playing sports.

After facing talks from people about her career, she doesn't want to stop here. She wants to become the first Bangladeshi Female Umpire. A field quite competitive and dominated by males, she had to train among five others where she was the only female.

She is one of the 2008 documentary Stories of Change subjects, which shows her struggle to enlist in the national team as a member of an indigenous community.
