Supporting People and Rebuilding Communities, mostly known as SPaRC was founded in April, 2013. It was started after the garments factory tragedy in Savar. At that time, many women lost their lives and SPaRC stood beside the victims of that tragedy. Following this, they structurally founded and spread their working areas in Chittagong Hill Tracts. SPaRC works for women’s rights, children’s rights , indigenous people’s rights , youth capacity building , sexual orientation and gender identity , peace and security . Presently, they are working with girls and women who were previously the survivors of sexual and/ or physical abuse and helping them to recover and improving their lives in Chittagong Hill Tracts . They even arrange workshops, training, sharing experience and collaborate with regional / national / international organizations. Not only they raise awareness on rights issue but also they raise voice against any kinds of oppression.
Muktasree Chakma Sathi is the founder and executive director at Supporting People and Rebuilding Communities. This organisation mainly is women led and it is pledged by the belief of Gender Equality, sustainable development, justice, Peace and both mental and global health. We the indigenous people of Chittagong Hill Tracts wish and hope that many more will come to work for the development of our community.
