Rama Zadi: The tallest Buddhist Temple of Bangladesh with a height of 175 feet


Located in Hoda Babur Ghona of Rohangchhari Upazila Road, 3 km away from Bandarban district, where land meets the clouds; is the tallest Buddhist Temple of Bangladesh, the Rama Zadi. The temple built at an altitude of about 1500 feet above sea level is 15-20 minutes away from the main Bandarban town.


It was built by U Pannya Jota Mahathera, who is the founder of The World Buddha Sasana Sevaka Sangha. He alsoTo keep the exchange of ideas and ties strong he also built temples outside the country.

This 175 feet temple was given a golden color to make it attractive. Inside the Zadi are 10 small and large bronze Buddha statues and outside on the upper part surrounding it are 90 idols.

Construction began in 2005 and took almost 11 years to complete. The design and architecture of the temple is built following the style of Buddhist temples in Myanmar, China and Thailand. The unique structure of the temple is the work of Myanmar’s skilled construction engineers.
