Planting over 1 Lakh Saplings in Sajek

Very often we come across horrifying news about Sajek. Drinking water crisis and health crisis and what not. Here's a pleasing news amid all the bad news about 'The Queen of Hills'. Plantation of over 1 lakh tree saplings program has recently been started there.

The Voice of CHT Youth, a voluntary organisation took a plan to save the greenery of Sajek. By keeping 'plant trees and save the environment' as their slogan, the organization has targeted to plant more than 1 lakh trees throughout the year. As a part of the implementation of that plan, last friday (may 21) 50 of tamarind and mango tree saplings have been distributed among the villagers of Shukno Chhara in Sajek union of Baghaichhari district in Rangamati. The villagers can plant the distributed sapnlings at their convenience.

The founders and the volunteers of The Voice of CHT Youth have kept the donation box open for all. Anyone can donate any kind of tree saplings including herbs, fruits or any other species of trees and become a part of this very timely program, they say.

The organisation is constantly encouraging people to plant trees as many as they can on their lands. Their team will soon start an awareness camping on 'conservation of forest, environment and biodiversity'.
