Nilgiri: An ecstatic experience, a blissful view, fresh breath, Chander Gari and touching the clouds

Nilgiri is one of the tallest peaks in Bangladesh. It is approximately 3500 feet in height and it is located 46 kilometres south of Bandarban town in Thanchi Thana. Nilgiri is an amazing place to visit if someone wants to get closer to nature. One can get the whole view of the city from here.

Looking at the blue skyline caressing the mountain peaks with clouds floating around is a heavenly experience. People who stay over at the Nilgiri resort take the full experience of the place because early in the morning, waking up to a serene view of nature is something completely straight out of a dream. Far from the monotonous life of the city, a stay full of comfort and pampering from nature is something we all yearn for in our vacations.

Early in the morning is the best time to visit the place. As the clouds dance around caressing the mountain peak as the gentle breeze flows around, the inner child in all of us gets its dream come true that is being around the clouds and touching them. With the panoramic view of the green mountain peaks, gentle breeze blowing on your face, vibrant colour around and gratitude in our hearts we witness the beauty of Nilgiri, the Darjeeling of Bangladesh.

During Autumn and late autumn cotton candy white clouds are seen while during winter misty fog surrounds the place which creates a fascinating memory of the place. Nilgiri can be enjoyed at any season of the year however sometimes during the rainy season it remains closed due to heavy rainfall. Moreover, one can get the experience of riding on a Chander gari on the way to Nilgiri which will enhance the remembrance of the place even more. There is no doubt that our country is blessed with many aesthetically pleasing and serene places and Nilgiri is surely one of them!

Besides, there is also a village of Mro people here who lead a simple lifestyle. The Nilgiri resort is managed by the Bangladesh Army and the local governing body of the Bangladesh Army. Reservation of the resort and entering the place also requires permission and all are managed by the Bangladesh Army.
