Let's know about Alutila Buddhist Pagoda!

A Pagoda is a pyramidal tower or cone-shaped structure (multi-storied tower-like structure) with an upward curving roof made of bricks, stone, or wood, which is used for religious purposes, especially by Buddhists, in China, Japan, and South-East Asia. Pagodas are usually very highly decorated.

The Golden Colored Alutila Buddhist Pagoda is one of the unique Buddhist temples in Khagrachari district. It is located at Sangkassa Nagar of Matiranga upazila, in the hill district of Khagrachari. The pagoda is very close to the mysterious Alutila cave. Alok Nabagraha Dhatu Chaitya is the main attraction of the temple. It’s a sacred Buddhist monastery founded by Venerable Chandramuni Mahathera on 1st May, 1999. Besides, there is an old age home.

The area is surrounded by deep green forest. It’s a very peaceful place to visit. Away from the city, anyone will enjoy their time here with peace and serenity. Although it’s a very pleasing place, the pagoda needs more facilities and accommodations.
