When it comes to discussing the attire of the Garos, the first thing to talk about is Dakmanda. Dakmanda is the main garment worn by Garo women. Women wear this dress wrapped around their waists. The Garos cut the yarn and made Dakmanda themselves. They market by making color baycolored. Garo women like to wear colorful Dakmanda in various social occasions, weddings, festivals etc.Dakmanda Colors such as red, blue, yellow, green, brown etc are preferred by Garo woman.Dakmanda has an angle-shaped design that looks like an eye. The Garos consider this sign with eyes to be the eyes of God. And also they prefer to adore Dakmanda with some traditional jewellery. Moreover , the Dakshari is used in the house of Garos for household purpose . Garo women wear Dakshari around the waist. It is designed in a very simple way. Dakshari is very useful for working in the field. It is very beautiful to see the Garo women working in groups after the daksari of different colors.

Although nowadays the garo women folk have adorned themselves with salwar kameez, sari ,

jeans, T-shirts like other people in the country .They are now becoming accustomed to using indigenous clothing. But the use of one's own costume is still seen most in any social event. And the artistry of traditional handmade garments has always mesmerized people

So the only request to the present young generation is to take proper initiatives to prevent their traditional attire from evenscence in the womb of time.
